redemption.

I am praising Jesus today for His redeeming love.
Redemption is the story of my soul.
Christ is my life and He deserves nothing less.

1 John 3:16-18.

Christ be the center of our lives. Be the place we fix our eyes. Be the center of our lives. We lift our eyes to heaven, we wrap our lives around your life. We lift our eyes to heaven, to You.

In Your light, we see light

I prayed 2017 would be all about light. Yet here, with just a few days left, I don't know if this year was anything like I thought it would be. I imagined a year of bright burning light flooding my life, walking through glitter waterfalls of sparkling rays and that just didn't happen. What I thought this year was going to be, turned out to be completely opposite. This word that I was so hopeful to have sprinkled over every day was really hard to find. I would check in with myself every so often and wonder about its meaning and when it would start to make sense, when my year would start to be defined by light...and to be honest most of the time, I didn't know why I had chosen this word. Did I hear God wrong? Is this whole "word" things actually just a joke, something I created myself Well..turns out God likes to connect dots in the strangest ways. Remember those things? The connect the dots drawings? You can always tell what the picture is going to be before you...

Congrats!

It all made me realize how wrong we get it sometimes.. It made me so frustrated and sad. It made me cringe and want to scream through that phone and computer screen. And it most definitely made me want to cry. And I did. Too many to count at this point, but ever since posting a picture of my boyfriend and me on social media at the end of April, I have received so many "congratulations". SO. MANY. And after each comment, a fire grew bigger and bigger in my soul. And when fire grows like this- I write. So here I am writing about it, about one little word that is usually meant for accomplishments that have taken lots of hard work or prizes that were won. But this week it was meant to express someone's happiness for me being a in relationship. Yuck. Did I finally accomplish something? Did I get lucky enough to finally  get a boyfriend? No. Neither of those things. Congratulations is not in order for me. I have dated a lot-- a lot. Some of my "friends" would s...

Gray

After learning a huge life lesson, I always find myself with a profound sense of contentment, like I just conquered a mountain and I am able look out over everything I have climbed and see from a view I never had before- a view where everything makes sense. I am thankful for those moments, but I know in the same breath that life is mostly lived in the valleys and on the climb...but it's in those moments on the mountaintops, I think, "Man, God, what else do you have to teach me? What's coming next?" In those moments, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will be descending that mountain and embarking on new lessons that are awaiting me. Now, I am only 27 and I feel like I have already learned a lot, but it's just the beginning and there are mountains surrounding me on all sides- and it's a good thing because I want to learn. I never want to stop learning. I am being molded and transformed. And when I pray for transformation how silly am I to think that th...
